British actor and comedian Tim Curry, known for playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter in the cult classic 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show', last night at the age of eighty.

Curry, who had been suffering from serious health problems for more than a decade, passed away at his Los Angeles home, the TMZ portal reported this Wednesday.

The US media outlet reported that Los Angeles authorities arrived at his home at 11:23 p.m. on Tuesday to attend to his passing. As of now, foul play has been ruled out.

Curry was one of the most acclaimed actors in between the 80s and 90s. His role as Pennywise in the movie It is one of the most remembered to date.

He also acted in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York with Macaulay Culkin.

In 2012, it was reported that the actor suffered a massive stroke that required surgery; since then, his health declined. In his memoir Vagabond, he detailed that the consequences of the stroke left his legs immobile.
