Following the viral spread of the alleged nomination of actress Eiza González for the 2026 Razzies, the Mexican star posted a forceful message this Wednesday to stop the criticism regarding her performance in the film Fountain of Youth, directed by Guy Ritchie.
"They spread misinformation about a nomination that didn't exist and doesn't exist for me, in the same week that two films I am proud of were announced at an incredibly important film festival," she wrote on her Twitter account.
Eiza criticized the extensive coverage given to her alleged nomination for "worst supporting actress" at the 2026 Golden Raspberry Awards, noting that it overshadowed the lack of coverage of the international festivals she attended.
"Major television networks rushed to promote a pseudo-nomination that came from a Reddit account," the 35-year-old actress declared.
Therefore, she called for greater support for actresses and actors who are making their way in international film and television.
"Remember these moments when you want us to come to your studios to give you exclusives. I am only making this public statement to remind you that we can be better. Your reports are reflected globally. How you speak about your own people resonates in other parts of the world. It is truly a shame. Let's be better," she asserted.
