Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are changing the course of their story after returning to the United Kingdom following six years in the United States, where they built their family and empire, but upon their return, they would be on their own if their plans fail.
According to sources cited by US media, the royal family would turn their backs on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if their return proves to be a failure, as a measure to protect the image of the Crown and stay out of any potential scandal.
According to a royal expert, the monarchy would remain on the sidelines and watch how the couple's stay in the United Kingdom evolves, without getting involved in any type of crisis that the couple might trigger.
"I've been told that the royal family is simply going to leave them be," states Rob Shuter in an interview he gave for The Nerve podcast prior to the arrival of the Duke and Duchess.

The strategy, according to the released statements, would be to simply "let them" act and wait. Shuter stated that the royal family would not seek to compete with the Sussexes for public attention and would trust that, over time, the actions of the working members of the monarchy will end up prevailing.
Meanwhile, King Charles III and Queen Camilla, as well as Prince William and Princess Kate Middleton, maintain official schedules without Harry's company, while other members of the family have assumed responsibilities that the Sussexes once held before leaving the institution six years ago.
It was recently revealed that William will continue with his royal schedule with no possibility of meeting with his brother and that he has no intention of even approaching or speaking to him.
The monarchy's strategy would, therefore, be to maintain their agenda and let Harry and Meghan develop their own path without intervening directly; in fact, upon their return, it was revealed that the couple will be like private royals, with their own commitments and work far from the royal family.
The most blunt warning points to what would happen if Harry and Meghan face a public crisis again. Shuter asserted that his Palace sources indicated that the royal family "is not going to help them" nor will they be available to solve problems derived from their media exposure.
"If you give them enough freedom, they can't help it. They mess everything up. The palace will not be there to fix it. That's what my sources inside the palace have told me: that they aren't going to help them. But perhaps worse yet, when things go wrong, they aren't going to fix them," the expert claims.
