In July 2025, Mujica revealed to Rodner Figueroa that to fulfill her dream of being an actress, she had to leave her son Mauro in the care of her then-husband, Osamu Menéndez, in Cuba. "I was a very young mom, at 19 (...) I have three children, two boys. The first one was the one who was in Cuba raised by his dad. His dad told me: 'Go, go triumph and I'll take care of him'," she commented.
"I got married very young. I have a wonderful son, Mauro is now 30 years old and I am super proud of him. I see him and I say 'Wow'. I always wanted to be a mom, it was like a need I had to have children," she asserted.
According to the site Las Top News, Aylín Mujica allegedly told People en Español that the arrival of her eldest son changed the meaning of her life: "From that day on, the meaning of my life changed, and it changed to understand that bringing a being into this world by giving life from yourself is the most honest and real feeling," she said.
