FIFA announced that the winners of the 2026 World Cup final between will receive for the first time a custom championship ring, a tradition from American sports.

This will be the first time in the history of FIFA competitions that the organization will present rings to the tournament winners, in addition to the usual gold medals and the World Cup trophy, as announced by FIFA in a statement on Thursday.

A total of 2,026 rings will be crafted in honor of this year's edition, all of which will be individually numbered.

Of the 2,026 rings, 30 will be given to the winning team and the remaining 1,996 rings will be put on sale by FIFA.

The 30 rings awarded to the World Cup champions will feature a design with the World Cup trophy on one side, while the other side will be personalized according to the winning team.

After the final, the winning team's captain and coach will receive provisional rings to commemorate the occasion.

Subsequently, the 30 winners' rings will be custom-made and delivered to the champion team's roster.

The runner-up team will have to settle for the silver medal.
