Which matches were postponed after the death of Jesús de Miguel?
The 13th round Spanish Segunda División match between Granada and Tenerife, scheduled for Saturday, has been postponed following the death of Tenerife forward Jesús de Miguel and will be played at a later date to be decided, the Granada club reported on Wednesday.
Tenerife, which has suspended all activity for six days in mourning for the death of its player, plans to hold a tribute to De Miguel at the club's stadium on Saturday.
The Tenerife forward died on Tuesday, the day after receiving a blow in a collision with an opponent during the match against Andorra.
De Miguel was preparing to control a ball in midfield when Owono came out to clear it, colliding with the opposing forward.
The match scheduled between Andorra and Mallorca for next Sunday has also been postponed at the request of the Pyrenean club.
"The club had requested the suspension of the match and has had the support and understanding of LaLiga and the Balearic club from the beginning," stated the Andorran team in a press release.
Mallorca stated, for its part, that "at this moment, respect and sensitivity must prevail in the face of a situation of profound pain."
Andorra players held a minute of silence this Wednesday before a voluntary training session, which Owono did not attend.
