Hormiga González promises to return to Chivas
Before traveling to Europe, Armando "Hormiga" González spoke with the Mexican press and thanked the red-and-white fans for the love received. In addition, he assured that one of his biggest goals is to return to the "Rebaño."
“Very grateful to all the fans. I will carry what Chivas is with me forever. I hope, God willing, to return someday, which is what I want, and I am very grateful to all the people for all the love and affection they gave me.”
The forward also expressed his desire to win a League title with the red-and-white team when he returns.
“Obviously it is a goal I still have. I know that, God willing, in the future I will do very well in Europe and I will return to Chivas. I know that there, very soon, God will give me the title. They are doing very well; the board and the coaching staff are working to be champions. We all want to be champions and we are on a good path.”
Why did Hormiga González choose Olympiacos over other options?
"Hormiga" González assured that the financial aspect was never his priority and that he chose Olympiacos for the sporting project.
The forward highlighted that it is the most important club in Greece and that he will compete in European competitions, including the 2026-2027 UEFA Europa League.
“Money is not the main thing for me; the main thing is the footballing aspect and I liked this project a lot. It is a great team, a great club, the biggest in Greece and it plays in European competitions. I wanted to take on that challenge, something important for my career.”
What did Hormiga González say about the Mexican National Team?
Regarding the possibility of being called up by the Mexican National Team, now managed by Rafa Márquez, the attacker stated that his arrival in Europe represents an important step in his career and that everything will depend on his performance.
“For me to be called up to the National Team, I have to be doing well. This is something more for my career. If I am doing well, obviously I will be taken into account.”
