It is anticipated that not having the biometric CURP could hinder or delay the following procedures:

¿Es obligatoria la CURP biométrica en 2026?
So far, the biometric CURP has not been declared mandatory for 2026. However, last year, President Claudia Sheinbaum called for Mexicans to obtain it, as it will be a useful document for various procedures. "Obviously, no one can be forced to do it. Of course, we believe it is important to do so because it helps with many issues, particularly those related to victims of violence (...) and specifically regarding the issue of missing persons," she mentioned.
¿Cómo sacar la CURP biométrica 2026?
- CURP certificada (Copia).
- Acta de nacimiento (sólo para personas de 0 a 18 años) (Copia).
- Identificación oficial (INE, pasaporte, Cartilla Militar, cédula profesional, credencial escolar, credencial del ISSSTE, credencial del IMSS, credencial expedida por la Secretaría de Bienestar (Original).
The process is as follows:

-Appear in person with the requested documents.
