¿Se necesita la credencial del INAPAM para obtener el descuento?
Although the benefit is aimed at senior citizens, the SRE requires proof of age through a valid official identification.
The INAPAM card serves as identification, provided it is valid and accepted by the authority to verify the applicant's age. However, the discount is granted for being 60 years of age or older, not because of INAPAM membership.
Therefore, other official identifications, such as the INE voter card, can also be used.

Thanks to the 50% discount, senior citizens will pay the following amounts:

- Pasaporte de 3 años: 900 pesos.
- Pasaporte de 6 años: 1,220 pesos.
- Pasaporte de 10 años: 2,140 pesos.

Senior citizens must present the following documentation on the day of their appointment:
1. Documento que acredite la nacionalidad mexicana
One of the following can be presented:
- Acta de nacimiento mexicana.
- Certificado de nacionalidad mexicana.
- Declaratoria de nacionalidad mexicana por nacimiento.
- Carta de naturalización.
- Cédula de identidad ciudadana.
- Certificado de matrícula consular.
2. Identificación oficial vigente
Among the accepted documents are:
- Credencial para votar (INE).
- Matrícula consular.
- Licencia de conducir.
- Otras identificaciones oficiales reconocidas por la SRE.
3. Comprobante de pago
It is essential to present the original receipt stamped by the banking institution where the corresponding payment was made.
4. Hoja de confirmación de cita
The sheet is generated at the time of scheduling the appointment and must be presented printed.

¿Qué sucede el día de la cita?
The recommendation is to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time.
During the appointment, SRE personnel:
- Revisará la documentación.
- Verificará los datos personales.
- Tomará la fotografía digital.
- Capturará huellas dactilares.
- Realizará la lectura del iris.
Applicants do not need to bring printed photographs, as the entire biometric capture process is carried out at the office. Once the procedure is completed, the passport is usually delivered the same day, after a wait that can vary between a few minutes and approximately one hour.
