As a sign of gratitude for the humanitarian aid that sent after the devastating earthquakes recorded on June 24, the government of donated a search and rescue puppy that will join the Mexican canine units.

During the handover ceremony, it was also reported that two other puppies will travel to Mexico to receive specialized training in search, location, and rescue of people in collapsed structures. Brigadier General Alejandro Gómez Vargas, commander of the "Yumare" Humanitarian Aid Group, was in charge of officially receiving the dogs.

"We have just handed over three puppies so that two of them may be trained for rescue operations in Mexico and one remains as part of Mexico's canine search and rescue units, representing Venezuela. We have established many cooperation mechanisms."

And that is the way the government of Mexico should always act. And yes, today we are going to receive them. The president of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, donated a puppy, a canine, to this brigade, and it will be there at the Felipe Ángeles International Airport," she expressed.

In 2023, Turkey presented Arkadaş as a sign of gratitude for the humanitarian aid Mexico provided following the earthquakes recorded that year and in tribute to Proteo, the Mexican rescue dog who died during search and rescue efforts.
