Escándalo en Argentina: FBI investiga a la AFA por contratos millonarios y presunto lavado de dinero
A former general director of Mexico's state-owned oil company (Pemex) was arrested this Tuesday after being accused by his wife of domestic violence, the capital's prosecutor's office reported.
A statement from the agency detailed that Víctor Rodríguez Padilla was captured in the capital in response to a request from a court in the neighboring state of Morelos.

In the coming hours, in a court in that district, he must answer to the accusations of "family violence committed against his partner," the Mexico City prosecutor's office detailed.
Rodríguez headed Petróleos Mexicanos between October 2024 and May of this year. The Mexican president, Claudia Sheinbaum, had appointed Rodríguez to hold another high-ranking position in the Ministry of Energy, which did not materialize in light of the complaint.
His wife, María Felicia Jiménez, reported him to the authorities and on social media for assaults dating back to 2022. She even released a security camera video from inside their home in which Rodríguez pushes her, pins her to the floor and onto a sofa, and at times places his hands on her neck.
"The law must be applied, with all its weight. We are not going to protect anyone in the face of an act like this," said Sheinbaum on June 29 during her daily press conference.
The arrest, according to local media, was only for Rodríguez to give a statement.
His wife told a local radio station that she delayed filing the complaint because she "was afraid."
"Afraid of his power, afraid of the retaliation, afraid of all the consequences," said Jiménez, who has a six-year-old son from this marriage.
