Aylín Mujica reportedly witnessed the death of her son, Mauro Méndez, via a video call, according to reporter Mandy Fridmann. What happened? This is what was revealed hours after the tragedy.
According to the journalist, Mujica was on a video call with her son when he was being treated for the first heart attack he suffered. Witnesses to the moment told Fridmann that Aylín was filming the show Top Chef VIP in Colombia just as paramedics were attending to her son.
“Aylín reportedly received a video call from her son on his way to the hospital (...) she was filming, and some of her colleagues reportedly witnessed the moment when the beloved actress witnessed the doctors having to attend to him in an emergency during his first heart attack,” the journalist recounted.
Apparently, the paramedics ended the call when the actress screamed in fear at what was happening to her son: “They cut the call upon hearing the screams of his mother”.

The host of the Top News program pointed out that the actress managed to see and speak to her son during his final minutes of life. Reports indicated that Mauro Méndez's death was caused by two consecutive heart attacks.
The son of the Cuban actress and host, who was a famous DJ and music producer under the name Maahez, was in the middle of a trip from Miami to Barbados to participate in a baseball game when he felt ill. It is claimed that he was recovering from pneumonia.
In a message following the fatal news, Aylín stated on social media that she was “devastated,” and thanked everyone for the support she was receiving.
Likewise, she dedicated a message on Instagram celebrating his life and the way he shaped her motherhood:
“Today my heart is devastated by the departure of my son Mauro. A being full of light, love, joy and immense kindness, who left an indelible mark on all of us who had the privilege of knowing him. His absence leaves a void that is impossible to describe, and learning to live with this pain will be the greatest challenge of my entire life. Fly high my love, we are going to miss you so much, but I trust that God has you in a wonderful place. I only ask that you send me strength to be able to endure so much pain. Thank you to all the friends and colleagues who have sent me words of encouragement. I love you with my life, my dear Mau”

Maribel Guardia dedicated an emotional message of support to Aylín Mujica after the death of her son, Mauro, 31, a gesture that quickly moved thousands of users on social media and brought to mind the death of Julián Figueroa.
Guardia expressed her solidarity with the Cuban actress, recalling the deep pain she herself experienced in 2023 following the passing of her son Julián, who was 27, when he lost his life to a heart attack.
Through her official Instagram account, Maribel Guardia shared a photograph of Aylín Mujica with Mauro, accompanied by a message of solidarity and affection with which she expressed her empathy.
“Today I weep with you, dear @aylinmujic. No mother should ever have to say goodbye to a son. I know that love does not end when life changes form, because children live forever in the half of the heart they leave behind when they go,” the Perfume de Gardenia actress wrote, remembering her own son.
In the same message, Maribel Guardia wished her strength and offered her company and support: “May God embrace you, hold you, and give you the necessary strength to go through this immense pain.
