American actress, model, and singer Hayden Panettiere, known for her roles in the "Scream" horror film saga, passed away at 36, her representative confirmed to the ABC News network.

"It is with deep sadness that we share the tragic news of the passing of our beloved Hayden. She was an incredible person, a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her, and to the millions who watched her on screen," stated her father, Skip Panettiere, in a press release.
The father of the actress, who has not disclosed the causes of her passing, also requested privacy "as our family takes time to process this unimaginable loss."
Panettiere, who began her career as a child star and developed a long career in television and film, is remembered for her role as Claire Bennet in the hit series "Heroes."
And, above all, as Juliette Barnes in the musical drama "Nashville," for which she received two Golden Globe nominations. A series she starred in for 128 episodes between 2012 and 2018.
She also starred in "Remember the Titans," "Raising Helen," "Ice Princess," and "Scream 4."
Raised in Palisades, New York, her mother was a soap opera actress and her father was a fire department captain. As a child, she appeared in popular television series such as "Ally McBeal" and "Malcolm in the Middle."
Panettiere spoke openly about her personal struggles from her childhood into adulthood in her memoir titled "This Is Me: A Reckoning," which was published in May.
In it, she shares "an intimate and rare look at her private life, speaking openly about postpartum depression, addiction and recovery, trauma, domestic abuse, and loss," according to the book's synopsis.
The artist was a mother to a daughter, Kaya Klitschko, born in 2014, with her former partner, heavyweight boxing champion Wladimir Klitschko.
In a 2022 interview with "Good Morning America" that ABC News has revisited, Panettiere spoke openly about her struggle with alcoholism and postpartum depression.
Her brother, Jansen Panettiere, passed away suddenly in February 2023 due to cardiomegaly (enlarged heart) and aortic valve complications, as reported by his family in a statement. He was 28.
