Miss Universo 2025, de los más polémicos: jurados renuncian, denuncias de fraude y tensiones con México
Although Nawat Itsaragrisil himself apologized for his behavior at the sash ceremony, where he confronted the then-Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, Miss Grand International Public Company Limited announced this Wednesday that it initiated legal action against the new Miss Universe three weeks ago.
"Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil formally filed a criminal complaint against Ms. Fátima Bosch Fernández in Thailand on November 12, 2025," the organization revealed in a statement released nearly a month after the incident.
¿Porque está demanda Fátima Bosch?
The Miss Grand International organization, presided over by Nawat himself, detailed that the lawsuit against Fátima Bosch stems from the confrontation that occurred on November 4th, on the eve of Miss Universe Thailand 2025, which drew significant media attention.
They flatly rejected that Itsaragrisil insulted the Mexican in any way and claimed, on the contrary, that it was she who misinterpreted the businessman's words, as he later attempted to rectify his actions.
The tension was experienced in front of a large number of beauty queens, some of whom left the room in support of the Mexican contestant amidst threats from the businessman that his security team would remove her and that those who accompanied her could be disqualified.
The controversy was broadcast live on social media, after which Bosch gave a report to the international press covering the event.
¿De qué trata la demanda penal presentada por Nawat Itsaragrisil contra Miss Universo?
The statement announcing the criminal complaint filed by Nawat Itsaragrisil against Miss Universe states:
"We wish to reaffirm that Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil never called Ms. Fátima Bosch 'stupid.' What he said was 'damage,' which is clearly audible in the voice recordings that have already circulated widely on various platforms."
"The phrase: 'If you follow your national director's order, you are doing damage; if not, you can do it. I am very happy and the good report will be sent to the organization...'" was the clarification made by the organization regarding the insults that were reported by both the beauty queen and the international press.
Likewise, it accused the then-Miss Mexico of making "a false accusation before the media" following the incident recorded inside the room, which caused the reaction of several of those present.
"Even after learning the facts, she did not apologize to Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil. Instead, she continued to falsely accuse him in multiple interviews," they reprimanded.
Furthermore, they claimed that Fátima stood by her alleged "false accusations" because "apparently for her own benefit and to justify herself during the competition, after which she was ultimately crowned Miss Universe, as everyone knows."
The revelation of the lawsuit comes nearly two weeks after Fátima Bosch was crowned as the fourth Mexican to win Miss Universe.
Additionally, after she reaffirmed in social media posts and interviews with various international media outlets that by not remaining silent during the pageant she made several people uncomfortable, she stated that she will not resign despite the controversy generated by other figures who have alleged fraud in the beauty pageant.
