The main speculation is that she underwent cosmetic procedures that did not yield the expected results, as she was previously captured with a swollen face and having difficulty speaking.
This is why internet users have lashed out at her, as Montijo had preferred not to give too many details regarding whether or not she had any surgery. However, in this latest wave of accusations, the artist decided to break her silence and defend herself against the attacks.
It was during an encounter with the media at the Mexico City International Airport that Galilea responded to those who claim that her face looks different and that she underwent cosmetic procedures.
With her characteristic sense of humor, the host made it clear that decisions about her appearance belong solely to her and launched a comment that became one of the most discussed topics: "There have been many pages even where I look distorted (...) it makes me laugh a lot, it makes me very curious that today women are asking for so much respect regarding not talking about bodies, about not talking about women against women, about sorority, and the first ones who are really super harsh, are the women," she said.
The Hoy host accepted that the last time she did look swollen in the face: "That time yes, the truth is I was super swollen. I think I should have waited another week." At the same time, she added that she will always take positive and constructive criticism into account.
However, she will not allow people to try to hurt her for the decisions she makes with her life and her body: "The day someone pays for my surgery and doesn't like how it turned out, well, they have every right to complain, but in the meantime I feel very good, I am very calm," she asserted.
Finally, she said: "I don't like to mess with anyone, I don't like to criticize anyone. I have a sense of humor, that yes, 100% I even laugh at myself. But when I see so much criticism, I say, where is the sorority?"
Galilea's response divided opinions on social media, as while some users supported the host and defended her right to decide on her image, others continued to opine about the changes to her face.
