Influencer and content creator Karely Ruiz broke her silence about the terrifying moment she and her husband experienced in the early hours of July 29, after armed men broke into her home in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León.
Karely Ruiz and her husband, Jhon Echeverry, shared the details of the robbery at their home on their YouTube channel. In a video of more than 16 minutes, the content creator confessed that the fear was so intense that she even lost control of her bladder during the assault.

The Monterrey native told her followers that the robbery took place around 3:30 in the morning on July 29. The only people in the house were her, her husband Jhon Echeverry, and a friend. Both were in the home's cinema room when they began to hear noises.
"Everything happened on July 29 at 3:30 in the morning. My husband and I were in this room, in our cinema room... We were lying down... And some armed people entered. We thought it was strange because it was just him, me, and a friend of ours, and well, hearing noise... the truth is we felt a lot of fear," she expressed.
The influencer explained that the criminals beat her husband while they searched for money inside the home. She even tried to offer them her car just so they wouldn't hurt them. Furthermore, she confessed that the fear was so great that she soiled herself.
"They opened the door, they went in. They beat my husband, I was very afraid, I lost control of my bladder from fear because it was something we honestly couldn't believe. They entered and asked where we kept the money; we normally don't keep money for that very reason, because the insecurity is very bad. My husband told them that our valuables were upstairs. In fact, I told them, here is my car, take it. We don't want you to do anything to us," she detailed.
Karely also confirmed that the assailants took their cell phones to prevent them from calling the police. Finally, thanks to her husband's Apple Watch, they managed to contact the influencer's father, who notified the authorities.
Jhon Echeverry also reported that, after the criminals left the home, they tried to ask a neighbor for help. However, he claimed that the neighbor denied them access to his home and even threatened them with calling the police.
"We went to take shelter. We ran into a very unsupportive person, we went through a very difficult situation... we asked a neighbor, we begged him, we pleaded with him to please let us into his house to call the police, but his refusal was absolute. He told us no, to leave, that he was going to call the police. I found it very illogical because I told him I wanted to call the police and he wanted to chase me away and call the police."

The influencer revealed that, after the case became media news, she and her husband began to fear for their safety. Mainly because some media outlets disseminated the location of their home. Following this, they made the decision to abandon the house where the assault occurred.
"We hadn't wanted to speak with the press because of what they did. It doesn't seem fair to us that I don't know how many media outlets came all the way here... it seems very unfair to us that they see us as a way to monetize or see us as a way to take advantage of the moment when it is a difficult situation where my daughter could have been in danger, my wife, even me," explained Jhon Echeverry.
For her part, Karely Ruiz stated that the leak of her address increased the fear they feel after the robbery.
"And they leaked everything. My address, they even came to film with drones, I mean everyone already knows where we live, so obviously we are going to leave here because we are in danger. Right now we feel scared, we feel in danger because what the media did is not okay, and we sleep in fear."
