Noelle Rasmussen, niece of , told The Telegraph that she is not surprised by the allegations against her 82-year-old grandfather, Thomas Markle, who is being investigated for alleged possession of child sexual abuse material.

"I'm not surprised. The more I think about it, the less... I don't know why I'm not surprised," said Rasmussen, daughter of Samantha Markle, half-sister of the Duchess of Sussex.

Rasmussen told the British media outlet that, subconsciously, she noticed something wasn't right with her grandfather.

"Maybe it was a feeling I sensed subconsciously... that something isn't right with a person, and you don't realize it consciously. But your body tells you when something is wrong."

However, Meghan's niece clarified that she was never a victim of abuse by her grandfather and that, although she did not believe he would attack a family member, she could not be certain.

“I'm glad that I was never a victim of any abuse or had the opportunity to be. I don't think he would attack the family, but when you don't know what someone is capable of, you can't take anything for granted.”

She also expressed that the allegations against Thomas Markle have been "disturbing" to "everyone involved and everyone who reads about it."

On the other hand, Rasmussen assured that she supports the decision by Meghan and Prince Harry to keep their children away from their grandfather: Archie, seven, and Princess Lilibet, five.

“I support their decision to keep their children from seeing him. I wouldn't want my children to be around someone accused of child sexual abuse,” she declared.

Meghan and Harry leave the United Kingdom after allegations against Thomas Markle

After the allegations against Thomas Markle for alleged possession of child sexual abuse material were revealed, it became known that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry left the United Kingdom.

However, the destination of the couple and their children was not disclosed.

A source close to the Duchess of Sussex assured Hello! Magazine that the Suits actress was truly affected by the situation and that, for her own mental health, she would distance herself from the media and not look at anything regarding the case.

Last week, The Sun reported that Meghan's father was being investigated for alleged possession of child sexual abuse material, after his son, Thomas Jr., found the material at his home in the Philippines and reported it to the police.
