Following the controversy over his comments about dogs and the statement issued by TV Azteca, Pedro Sola visited, along with the Ventaneando team, the Yaakunah foundation, which is in charge of rescuing and rehabilitating animals and providing assisted therapy with them. The host stated that the experience was so emotional that he was about to cry.
Here we tell you everything the Ventaneando host said and how social media reacted.
¿Por qué Pedro Sola y sus compañeros de Ventaneando visitaron un refugio de perros?
Last week, Pedro Sola sparked a major controversy on social media after stating that he felt like throwing poisoned meat at dogs and shooting their owners.
After this unfortunate comment, social media users and animal advocacy organizations spoke out against the host, demanding his firing and even filing a complaint with the Prosecutor's Office for alleged apology for animal abuse and incitement to violence.
TV Azteca then issued a statement asserting that Pedro Sola's words do not reflect the values it promotes as an organization. In addition, it announced the implementation of various measures to strengthen a culture of respect for animals among its staff, including an animal welfare awareness program and training for corporate and production teams.
¿Por qué Pedro Sola se emocionó y estuvo a punto de llorar al visitar un refugio de perros?
During this Friday's broadcast of Ventaneando, Pedro Sola and his colleagues revealed that they visited the Yaakunah foundation, where they learned about various cases of dogs that were rescued after suffering abandonment.
While sharing their experience, Mónica Castañeda asked the host how many times he had been around so many dogs at the same time.
"Never in my life. And for me it was a very peculiar experience because, curiously, when there are dogs around me... in the first place, they don't come near me. I don't know why, I think they smell that I'm not affectionate, but they don't scare me either... I'm just not used to it. Today, when I was with so many little dogs around me, I felt some very strange emotions..." the host asserted.
Castañeda added that he even petted several dogs at the shelter, something he had never done.
"You even touched them, something you hadn't done," the host commented.
To which Pedro Sola responded:
"They were all very affectionate, calm, they didn't even bark...".
The visit also moved the host, who acknowledged that he was on the verge of tears.
"There was never an awkward moment, honestly everything was very emotional. I was very glad you did it," Mónica Castañeda expressed.
Pedro Sola confessed:
"I felt very emotional, twice I was almost about to cry, but I held back and it really moved me."
The segment concluded with the announcement that the full report on the visit to the Yaakunah foundation will be broadcast next Monday. However, during the broadcast, a preview was shown in which Pedro Sola can be seen petting one of the rescued dogs.
¿Cómo reaccionaron las redes sociales?
On X, numerous users questioned the visit of Pedro Sola and the Ventaneando team to the shelter, considering that it was a strategy to contain the controversy.
Among the comments are:
- "Control de daños QUE DEBIERON HACER DESDE UN INICIO".
- "¿Y ya con esto nos vamos a quedar tranquilos?".
- "Son la burla del país, que les crea su abuela".
- "Más falsos que un billete de 300 pesos".
- "Cuidado no vaya Pedrito a echarles carne envenenada a esos perros".
