Enzo Fernández abandonó a su novia de la nada, pero por celos le pidió regresar
The love story between Enzo Fernández and Valentina Cervantes seemed like something out of a romantic novel, with drama, resilience, and success, but it had its twists that affected their love.
They met when they were teenagers, long before the footballer achieved fame with the Argentina national team and subsequently with Chelsea. Together they started a family and had two children, becoming one of the most beloved couples among soccer fans.
However, at the end of 2024, they surprised everyone by announcing their separation. Although they avoided getting into controversies, it was stated that the decision was made solely by Enzo, as he sought to go through a new stage in his life alone and focus on his growth at Chelsea, as well as enjoy his bachelor life in freedom. During those months, both insisted that they maintained a good relationship for the well-being of their children.
In fact, it was Valentina herself who recounted in an interview what happened at the end of their relationship and how she was forced to accept it: “Everything was going well and suddenly one day he told me he didn't want to be [with me] anymore. There are things that I still have to come to terms with, but that's it, I accepted it.”
Valentina also recalled how their romance began, pointing out that she gave him all her money when they started dating, since he was paid very little: “When we met, I worked at an empanada restaurant and was studying Law. He played for River Plate and then for the reserve team. When we moved in together, I changed jobs and started working at a call center near the Obelisco,” she said.
And she remembered: “At that time I earned more than what his agent gave him, we spent the whole salary, I had nothing left to save. And nine months later I got pregnant with Olivia; I was nineteen years old.”
While the breakup part caused controversy, the unexpected twist emerged shortly after, when Enzo found out that Valentina was being courted by a colleague, the Argentine player Thiago Almada, and he regretted his decision to let her go.
Cervantes told in a separate interview that Fernández realized he missed her and wanted to be with his family. In the midst of the reconciliation, Enzo asked her to quit the MasterChef Celebrity program because he was allegedly jealous of Almada and was bothered by the comments linking them romantically.
After this, Valentina abandoned everything in Argentina, dropped the modeling projects she had started after their separation, and returned with her children to England, where she previously had her residence with Enzo. From this moment on, they resumed their relationship and began sharing family images and were seen in public as a happy couple.
Valentina was severely criticized on social media for going back to the person who decided he no longer wanted to be with her, but she has defended herself on several occasions by pointing out that everyone deserves a second chance, but a third one, no.
