The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE) of Mexico confirmed this Sunday the identification of twelve people from the country who experienced the railway accident that occurred in the province of Toledo (central Spain), eleven of whom suffered "minor injuries" and have been discharged.
In a statement, the Mexican Foreign Ministry detailed that Spanish authorities are continuing the search for one Mexican whose whereabouts have not been confirmed.
It also highlighted that the Embassy of Mexico in Spain maintains "close communication" with the agencies of that country to "closely follow the development of events."

"The Embassy will provide financial support to the family members during their stay in Spain and is maintaining the consular protection protocol active," it emphasized.
Furthermore, it announced that the head of the Consular Section of the Embassy "traveled to Toledo to continue accompanying his family member and provide the necessary support."
The response from the diplomatic office comes two days after the President of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, confirmed the disappearance of the compatriot in the Urda accident, which has left at least 69 victims dead.
Family members of the unaccounted-for Mexican citizen identified him as Fernando de Jesús Calvillo Silva, 45, originally from Aguascalientes (central Mexico), who was traveling as a tourist in the eighth car of the Renfe train that covered the route between Madrid and Seville.
The accident occurred at 08:53 local time in Spain last Wednesday, when a Renfe AVE train traveling from Madrid toward Seville with 378 passengers struck an Iryo train stopped on the tracks with 147 people on board, causing several cars to fall down an embankment.
