Through an Instagram post, the plus-size model wrote that when Victoria’s Secret first contacted her, she hesitated about whether or not to participate. “For years, the brand didn't seem to be made for someone like me. Their vision of beauty seemed limited, as if everything they created was for only one type of body, and it wasn't mine,” she pointed out.
“But after sitting down with the leaders of VS, I saw a real change. They were excited for me to join the show and assured me that this wasn't a one-time thing. Curvy models weren't just a symbol: VS really wants to be part of the body diversity revolution,” she added.
Ashley Graham says she accepted because she saw the brand's commitment to embracing body diversity in a lasting and meaningful way. “So I said yes. I said yes to represent ALL OF US, to be present for every body that has ever felt invisible. And that is a journey I am proud to be on.”
The American, who has been one of the leading promoters of body positivity, was chosen by Maxim magazine as the sexiest woman in the world.
The magazine called Ashley Graham the “queen of curves” and the model revealed that her body underwent major changes after giving birth to her twins in 2022, but she feels more beautiful and confident than ever.
