Twenty days after the severe fall suffered by Miss Jamaica, 29-year-old Dr. Gabrielle Henry, during a preliminary event for the Miss Universe grand finale, the pageant revealed this Monday that the beauty queen suffered an intracranial hemorrhage and facial injuries as a result of the impact. However, after remaining hospitalized for nearly three weeks, she will be transferred to her home country in the coming days to continue her recovery.
In a statement published on Miss Universe's social media channels, the organization revealed that in the early days, her health status "remained critical" due to the fall from the stage that occurred during the evening gown segment, for which she had to be taken out on a stretcher and rushed to an emergency hospital in Bangkok, Thailand.
The medical team reported that the injuries suffered by the Jamaican beauty queen include:
- Una hemorragia intracraneal con pérdida del conocimiento
- Una fractura
- Laceraciones faciales
- Otras lesiones significativas (sin que se especificaran cuales)
It is worth remembering that Bangkok was the main host of the pageant, where a medical team has provided specialized care to Miss Jamaica while she has been accompanied by her family during these nearly three weeks following the spectacular fall, which was widely shared on social media.
The Miss Universe organization reiterated that they have since assumed the costs of her hospitalization and the expenses of her mother and sister who have been accompanying her.
However, they announced that while they will continue to cover her medical care, as well as the cost of the transfer and medical transport, Gabrielle Henry "will return to Jamaica in the coming days accompanied by a full medical team and will be taken directly to the hospital to continue her treatment and recovery."
Likewise, they assured that Henry still requires "24-hour specialized supervision," and as such, "they have also committed to covering all future medical expenses derived from the incident."
¿Cómo fue la caída de Miss Jamaica en Miss Universo 2025?
On the night of November 18, the evening gown round of Miss Universe Thailand took place, which was televised and broadcast across various platforms.
According to viral videos, Miss Jamaica debuted on the runway in a spectacular orange dress with a long train and cape; as she walked while looking toward the audience, she did not notice that there was a hole in the stage in front of her, into which she subsequently fell.
Although internet users described it as a shocking moment, the organizers continued with the evening gown segment.
Other videos show that while the rest of the beauty queens continued walking, emergency personnel can be seen in the background removing Miss Jamaica from the hole in the stage, immobilized on a stretcher.
In early reports, Miss Universe Thailand informed that Gabrielle was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit, where she was under constant neurological monitoring.
"She was rushed to Paolo Rangsit Hospital, where medical professionals are providing her care and have advised that she has not suffered any life-threatening injuries."
