Ninel Conde became a topic of conversation in recent days after releasing her docuseries Sin Filtro, via the streaming service VIX, in which she looks back on various periods of her life and moments that have marked her, including the turbulent relationship she had with the singer.
Rarely, the celebrity spoke about her personal life and the violent relationship she had with the son of Joan Sebastian for almost four years, at the beginning of the 2000s, and the stormy moments she experienced by his side, including an infidelity with a woman “in the industry” and threats he made at gunpoint.

While she did not say his name, Ninel referred to Figueroa as “a regional Mexican singer, son of a great icon who is resting in peace,” and also mentioned that the violent episode occurred 20 years ago, when they collaborated on a song.
The singer and actress recalled: “We were at his house in Cuernavaca, the phone rang and it was a girl from the industry, a host. There were already rumors that he was seeing her, that there was something there, and I had confronted him. I had said: ‘Hey, what’s up?’”.

According to her account, the singer also denied having anything with the aforementioned host, whose name Ninel did not give, and said that they were just lies: “‘No, no. Everything is a lie.’” When Ninel answered the call, the woman asked to speak to José Manuel, while she confirmed that she was being cheated on.
“I answer the phone and she says to me: ‘Can you pass this person to me?’. (...) You feel the cold throughout your whole body because everything they were saying, that he was cheating on you, that he was hanging out with this girl, I don't know what... you say: ‘No way, it’s true.’ So, I was blocked, I grabbed it and said to him: ‘They want to talk to you,’” she recounted.
The 'Bombón Asesino' recalled that at that moment she decided to leave José Manuel Figueroa’s residence, but he stopped her by grabbing her violently and asking where she was going, only to then pull out a gun and fire shots into the air. In addition to this, in the midst of his anger, he set fire to a Bible that Ninel had by her bed.
“He hung up the phone and grabbed me like, ‘Where are you going?’. I told him: ‘I’m leaving, you’re cheating on me’ and he: ‘You’re crazy, you’re probably cheating on me, that’s why you think I...’. That was when there was a terrible, terrible, terrible episode. He pulled out a gun and started firing shots into the air. He had my Bible next to the nightstand, he grabbed the Bible and set it on fire.”
This is not the first time the celebrity has spoken about her romance with Figueroa; previously, she had given details of their stormy relationship, although she had not made revelations similar to this conflict.
The couple dated during the 2000s, when both were boosting their careers in music and acting; at that time, Ninel was the girl of the moment due to her participation in the youth soap opera Rebelde.
In an interview she gave to Despierta América, the celebrity said that their relationship was toxic and codependent, in which there was “verbal violence”.
During her participation in La Casa de los Famosos, Ninel made some comments about their relationship, stating that the singer was “very flirtatious” and that she suffered a lot during their courtship: “I fell in love a lot, he did too, but I suffered a lot because he was flirtatious, the girls would throw themselves at him after the shows. I was overwhelmed when I saw it. I also had codependency, that wasn't healthy, it was very painful.”
At the time, it was commented that José Manuel Figueroa cheated on her with women like Angélica Vale and Paty Muñoz.
