Universal Orlando Resort continues to expand its offer of themed experiences with Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, a spectacular roller coaster coming to Universal Studios Florida in 2027.
Inspired by the popular Fast & Furious film franchise, the new attraction promises to take adrenaline to another level using state-of-the-art technology and maneuvers designed to recreate the intensity of the saga's famous races and stunts.
Recently, Universal Orlando shared a sneak peek of the attraction on its social media, where it revealed one of its most impressive elements: a lift hill section that will reach 170 feet (51.8 meters) in height, equivalent to about 17 stories.
From that point, visitors will have a bird's-eye view of the area around Universal CityWalk before launching at high speed into a ride full of turns, drops, and inversions.
The main feature of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be the sensation of 360-degree drifting. According to the company, riders will be able to experience movements inspired by the maneuvers of the vehicles featured in the films, creating an immersive experience that seeks to bring the thrill of the franchise's streets and circuits directly to a roller coaster track.
The new attraction will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, one of Universal Studios Florida's most recognizable roller coasters.
Furthermore, the project is part of a broader renovation of the area, as the Fast & Furious – Supercharged experience will also close its doors to make way for a more modern proposal aligned with the current expectations of fans of speed and action.
The commitment to the Fast & Furious brand will not be limited to Florida. Universal also plans to open a similar version of Hollywood Drift at Universal Studios Hollywood in 2026, reflecting the importance the franchise has within the company's global expansion strategy.
With this, Universal seeks to strengthen its catalog of attractions based on internationally popular film properties.
The arrival of this roller coaster coincides with a period of accelerated growth for Universal Orlando Resort. Following the opening of Epic Universe in 2025, considered one of the most ambitious projects in the company's history, the resort has reinforced its position as one of the world's leading tourism and entertainment destinations.
With Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, Universal hopes to offer an experience that combines speed, technology, and cinematic storytelling, allowing visitors to feel part of the Fast & Furious universe like never before.
