This is how the mobile line registration schedule will continue:

As mentioned, the deadline does not apply to everyone and depends on the last digit of your number. This is how the linking schedule will continue up until the final December 31 deadline:

  • 1: 31 de agosto
  • 2: 15 de septiembre
  • 3: 30 de septiembre
  • 4: 15 de octubre
  • 5: 31 de octubre
  • 6: 15 de noviembre
  • 7: 30 de noviembre
  • 8: 15 de diciembre
  • 9: 31 de diciembre

What happens to mobile lines that are not registered on time?

If you do not link your line in time, the phone company you use will have 72 hours to suspend your service, the CRT specifies:

"Once the deadline corresponding to each digit has passed, phone companies will suspend the service of lines that have not been linked within the following 72 hours, and users will only be able to make calls to emergency numbers, citizen services, and their phone company, as well as receive alerts in the event of an earthquake."

Likewise, when mobile lines are suspended, users could face complications using other services linked to their number, such as banking operations, app usage, access to social networks, and even sending messages via WhatsApp.

Do you lose your mobile number if the line is suspended?

The answer is NO; however, you must link it to recover it. The CRT provides an extension to complete the registration after the line has been suspended for not doing so in a timely manner: "The line is not lost: the procedure to recover it can be done online from the phone itself or in person at Customer Service Centers."

"The CRT informs users with lines ending in 0 who did not complete their linking within the established period: your phone line has not been canceled or lost (...) to reactivate the service, it is only necessary to complete the registration process with your phone company," the commission stated in a release.

How do you register your phone line?

"It is reiterated that the process is not carried out by the government, but is conducted directly with the phone companies, which only associate the user's name and CURP with the cell phone number, eliminating any other data or images used during the linking process," the statement adds. To link your line, follow these steps:

  • Entra al portal de tu compañía telefónica e ingresa tu número de celular
  • Toma una foto de tu identificación vigente (INE) por ambos lados para verificar el documento
  • Valida tu identidad usando la cámara de tu celular y siguiendo las instrucciones
  • Registra tu línea

Where is the phone line registration done?

If you cannot access your carrier's portal, go directly to the CRT website at this link:

Here you can choose your carrier and follow the step-by-step instructions mentioned above.

Keep the following in mind! If you cannot complete the link online, you can do it in person; just visit your phone company's customer service center with your valid INE ID.
