Mexico has established itself as one of the most important countries for BTS globally, and that is no exaggeration: for the boy band, the Mexican territory has meant, over the years, a place of guaranteed success, with sold-out concerts and the highest streaming numbers for their music on digital platforms.
Following the announcement of the new BTS World Tour, which includes three dates for Mexico in May 2026, BTS will mark their return to our country in a big way. Indeed, the group has visited three other times to perform concerts, though never with this same level of euphoria and anticipation.

The relationship between the K-pop band and their Mexican fans has been built through historic concerts, viral moments, streaming records, and an emotional connection that remains alive, even during their hiatus for each member's mandatory military service.

¿Cuántas veces ha venido BTS a México?
BTS has been in Mexico at least three times since 2014. "Old ARMYs" will remember that the first time was at the 2014 Music Bank; the group arrived in the country as rookies, the term used to refer to debutant or novice artists. A viral moment from the group occurred when they sang a fragment of "La Bamba" in the middle of their show.
The second occasion was a year later, during their The Red Bullet Tour. By then, they were already known worldwide and were marking a before and after in the K-pop industry, and among boy bands in general, even reaching the same level as One Direction, which had a worldwide media explosion starting in 2019, even before they officially debuted.

The high point for Bangtan Sonyeondan (the meaning behind the acronym BTS) in Mexico occurred in 2017, when the group returned to the country as the headlining act for KCON 2017 at the Arena Ciudad de México. The euphoria was so intense that RM later confessed that Mexico is one of the loudest, most dedicated, and most passionate audiences they have had in their entire career.
Other anecdotes about BTS in Mexico include the visit of Taehyung, known as V, to Bacalar for the filming of the show Jinny’s Kitchen; likewise, J-Hope performed a couple of solo concerts in May 2025 at the Palacio de los Deportes, where he filmed a live video of his song "Mona Lisa."
La conexión entre México y BTS va más allá de la música
For BTS, the connection they have with Mexico goes beyond music and streaming numbers. It is said they love Mexican food and are fans of the cultural diversity found in Mexico.
Jin, known as "Worldwide Handsome," has expressed his love for Mexican tacos on several occasions. During one of his visits to the country, a video of him enjoying local food went viral, and he later recalled it fondly on broadcasts of the program Eat Jin.
For his part, Suga has also said that he enjoys Mexican gastronomy, such as tacos, burritos, quesadillas, and nachos.
Another bridge connecting BTS with Mexico and Latin America is the collaboration between J-Hope and Becky G on the 2019 song "Chicken Noodle Soup." It is known that Becky has Mexican origins, specifically from Jalisco.
Las fans mexicanas celebran a BTS a lo grande en las calles
Off the stage and away from their massive shows, the Mexican fandom (ARMY) has made history celebrating each member on special dates. In neighborhoods like Roma and Condesa in Mexico City, massive murals of the South Korean group have been created, especially for the birthdays of V and Jimin, becoming true pilgrimage points for fans from across the country who gather to sing, bring mariachis, eat, and talk about BTS.
In terms of numbers, the impact is not just symbolic: Mexico remains consistently in the global Top 2 for countries with the most streams of BTS on platforms like YouTube and Spotify. This massive consumption explains why the country always appears on the radar of the global K-pop industry.
According to Spotify statistics, the Mexican audience ranks second in terms of monthly listeners, with a total of 489,627 listeners.
