At 59, Nicole Kidman proved that she remains one of the most beautiful actresses in the industry. The Australian actress surprised everyone by starring on a new cover for Vogue Australia, where she posed in a daring Chanel outfit that showcased her spectacular figure and a toned abdomen that drew eyes.
The photo shoot, taken in New York, showcased a modern side of the star, who also used the interview to reflect on the obstacles she faced at the beginning of her career and how she turned some of her greatest insecurities into strengths.
For one of the most talked-about photographs in the report, Nicole Kidman wore a Chanel bikini paired with low-rise jeans and a striking gold necklace. She sported a wet, messy hairstyle, a look that added a relaxed and youthful air to the production.
In another shot, the actress appeared with an aesthetic inspired by skater style. She wore a Chanel beanie and a matching monochromatic strapless dress, while posing with an intense gaze in front of the camera.
The production was led by photographer Lachlan Bailey, while the styling was done by Christine Centenera, editor-in-chief of Vogue Australia.
As part of the interview, various Australian personalities asked the actress questions. One of them was filmmaker Baz Luhrmann, who asked her to reflect on an aspect she considered an obstacle in her youth that eventually became an advantage over time.
Kidman recalled that for years her height was a source of insecurity. She explained that she was the tallest student in her class and even had difficulties practicing ballet because of her stature.
The actress noted that when she started working in film, she repeatedly heard that she was "too tall" for some roles because she was taller than several of her male co-stars.
However, with the passage of time, she learned to see that characteristic in a different way.
“For a large part of my life, I was told I was too tall. Later, when you start getting the roles, the circumstances adapt to you. That experience gave me the drive I needed to keep going,” she explained.
During the conversation, her friend Naomi Watts also participated, asking her what the most important rule she had broken throughout her life was.
True to her reserved style, Kidman responded with a laugh that she preferred not to give details, although she admitted that there have been many occasions where she has decided to go against established expectations.
Another question came from actress Margot Robbie, who wanted to know what her favorite Australian commercial was.
The Oscar winner revealed a curious anecdote from her childhood: her big dream wasn't to star in movies, but to appear in a McDonald's commercial.
As she recounted, she wanted to be chosen for a fast-food chain ad because that way she could eat burgers on camera over and over again. However, she confessed that she never got that job.
Actress Zoe Saldaña took the opportunity during the interview to ask her how she has managed to build a successful film career while raising a family.
The answer from Nicole Kidman was as sincere as it was inspiring. She assured that perfection does not exist and that no one can do everything flawlessly.
As she explained, the important thing is to give the best effort possible in every aspect of life. She also revealed that she has always made it clear to her daughters that they are her absolute priority, even when she is working on a film set.
“If they need me, they know they can find me. I want them to know that they will never stop being the most important thing,” she expressed.
The shoot comes after Chanel welcomed her back as a global ambassador for the brand last year. The photographs were part of the presentation of the fashion house's Resort 2027 collection in Australia.
