Reports indicate that William has a series of conditions for accepting a rapprochement with Harry, one of which is causing a stir in the United Kingdom, and it is said that it could leave them embarrassed if they agree to such terms: a public apology in which they acknowledge the harm they have done to the royal family with their statements and accusations.
“As far as William is concerned, there have to be consequences, starting with an apology from Harry and Meghan to him and his wife; he wants them to take responsibility and he wants it to be public,” the insider told British media.
It is worth remembering that William and Kate Middleton were involved in a series of scandals sparked by accusations from Harry and Meghan in various interviews, documentaries, and in the King's youngest son's memoir, Spare, where he spoke about his brother and gave details of the private life of the royal family that damaged the image of the institution internationally.
Likewise, according to the versions provided by sources, William will only accept his brother and sister-in-law approaching him and returning to the royal family if they accept a legal commitment to avoid speaking about the institution and its members again, as well as its operations and duties.
“Once this happens, he says he might consider meeting with Harry, but only if he is willing to sign a legally binding contract that stipulates there will be no further public attacks against the family. He doesn't even want Harry to mention their names publicly without the palace's approval,” an informant detailed.
In addition to these requests, William would limit the status of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and prevent them from performing tasks that could be interpreted as official acts of the Crown.
