Amidst the rumors placing the young soccer prospect in the sights of major European clubs, the Xolos goalkeeper said that this tournament will be Gil Mora's last with the team.
These statements were made after the Xolos lost to San Diego FC in the Leagues Cup, where 'Morita' played for almost the entire match.
"We are taking advantage of the fact that we have a gem like Gil, and we know that this is his last tournament with us," Toño Rodríguez stated. "We want him to take good memories of Tijuana with him," he added.
Despite these revelations, there is still no official announcement from the Tijuana club regarding the departure of 'Morita' or his integration into another team in Europe.
Although the confirmation that Gil will finish the Apertura 2026 tournament has already been made by a member of the same team, it is known that the 17-year-old has an active contract with Xolos de Tijuana until 2029, following the renewal he signed prior to his participation in the 2026 World Cup.

Recently, Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) was added to the list, a French team that would be willing to pay him a salary of up to 2.5 million euros for his first season.
Amidst these rumors, the site TransferMark estimates that Gil Mora has a value of up to 25 million euros, a figure boosted by his popularity and performance with the Mexican National Team this summer.
