Julián Quiñones was one of the heroes who led the Mexican National Team, undefeated, to the round of 16 and made Mexicans dream of the World Cup with four goals during his participation in the tournament.

Days after falling to England, Quiñones was spotted on a commercial Viva Aerobús flight, receiving applause and ovations from Mexican fans who celebrated his performance in the four matches the Tricolor played during the World Cup.

A video taken by a passenger identified as Cibad Hernández is circulating on social media, showing Quiñones walking down the airplane aisle toward his seat with a companion.

As he walked, fans recorded him and cheered him on; some even thanked him for making Mexicans dream of glory with every goal and expressed their love.

"Thank you!", "That's it, Quiñones!", "We love you, Quiñones!", "Let's give him a cheer..." passengers said amid applause and shouts of excitement. Upon receiving such enthusiasm, Julián simply smiled and waved to those present.

Before boarding his flight, Julián was applauded by fans in the waiting area of the Mexico City International Airport.

After both videos went viral, internet users criticized the Mexican Football Federation for allowing their star player, after everything he did for the Mexican National Team, to travel on a low-cost airline and in economy class.

"Why didn't they take him first class? That guy deserves the best," "This man did more for Mexico than Claudia and he's going in economy," "He is a national hero, why is he in economy class?", "Couldn't they afford to fly him first class?" users wrote.

Julián Quiñones, el máximo goleador de la Selección Mexicana en este Mundial

Julián Quiñones, a Colombian-born Mexican citizen, made history with the Mexican National Team in this World Cup. In each of the four matches Mexico played, Quiñones scored a goal, securing their advance to the round of 16. With this milestone, Julián tied Luis Hernández and Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández in World Cups.

In an interview, his mother, Gabriela Quiñones, noted that her son had one dream in this Cup: to be a world champion with Mexico.

Although Javier Aguirre's team was knocked out of the competition, Gabriela said she was happy for what Quiñones did on the field at Estadio Azteca: "We thought we would go further, but that's life... I am very happy because my son gave it his all, he showed what he is made of, and better things are coming."

She added that she was happy to see her son become the National Team's top scorer in this World Cup: "Happy, because when he is on the field, he gives it his all. He leaves his heart on the field, and we as a family are happy because he gave it his all."
