Authorities reported that the attack occurred in Tres Ríos, Culiacán, Sinaloa, when two people on a motorcycle approached the restaurant's drive-thru area and killed him in front of his friends.

Videos of the tragic moment have gone viral on social media, including a shot where he is shot directly in the head and another where one of his companions says he is afraid of the motorcycles passing through the area, especially one that leaves and returns a few minutes later to commit the crime.

Regarding this last shot, it has been commented that César and his friends "sensed" that something was going to happen, as one of them says he is afraid and feels sick when seeing the motorcyclists leave the area.

After the attack, Gastélum's companions suffered from nervous breakdowns, according to initial reports, and were attended to by paramedics.

However, those claims have not been confirmed by authorities, nor is there any public evidence to support them, so until now, the relationship of these factions to his death remains speculative and spread online.
