Disney revealed a large list of projects for its theme parks and experiences around the world during the most recent edition of the D23 convention. Among the novelties are new areas inspired by Monsters, Inc., Coco, Encanto, Indiana Jones, and the Avengers, in addition to the return of classic shows and renovations of some of the company's most iconic attractions.
Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando
Hollywood Studios will welcome Monstropolis
The characters from Monsters, Inc. will arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios with a new themed area inspired by the city of Monstropolis. When it opens its doors in 2027, visitors will be able to meet Mike Wazowski and Sulley, tour iconic settings from the film, and enjoy a new theatrical show.
The area will also include establishments inspired by the film, such as the famous Harryhausen's restaurant and Archie's Scare Pig Pizza. Disney announced that an original song composed by Randy Newman will help recreate the atmosphere of the monster world.

Animal Kingdom will debut Indiana Jones and Encanto adventures
Disney also confirmed more details about the future expansion of Animal Kingdom, where visitors will be able to live a new story starring Indiana Jones.
The attraction, called Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent, will lead adventurers to explore an ancient Mayan temple filled with mysteries, legendary creatures, and supernatural dangers, including a giant snake based on Mesoamerican mythology.
On the other hand, the Madrigal family will have a presence in the park with La Fiesta de Encanto de Antonio. The experience will allow visitors to enter the Casita during a special celebration for Antonio and discover brand-new rooms created exclusively for the attraction.
The Yeti will roar again on Expedition Everest. Disney also announced that the famous Yeti from Expedition Everest in Animal Kingdom will be restored to regain its original movements and presence, news long awaited by fans of the attraction.

EPCOT prepares changes for Spaceship Earth and Figment
One of EPCOT's most representative attractions, Spaceship Earth, will receive a major update for the first time in nearly 20 years. The new version will expand its narrative, shifting from focusing solely on human communication to exploring the concept of human connection.
In addition, Disney confirmed that Figment and Dreamfinder will star in a new adventure related to the world of imagination, although more details have not yet been revealed.
Magic Kingdom will have an expansion
Magic Kingdom will have one of the most ambitious expansions in its history with the construction of Villains Land, a new land dedicated to Disney's most famous villains.
The area will transport visitors to an environment dominated by dark magic, where there will be experiences inspired by characters such as Maleficent and the Magic Mirror. Disney announced that it will include exciting attractions and spaces completely different from any other existing area in the park.
Also revealed were new details about the Cars-based area. Among the attractions will be Cars Ridge Run Rally, a high-speed adventure through mountains, geysers, and rugged trails accompanied by Lightning McQueen and Mater.
Another experience will be Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along, starring the unforgettable Miss Fritter, the enormous school bus from Cars 3.
The classic Tomorrowland attraction will incorporate the voices of Jamie Lee Curtis and Bryan Cranston as the show's parents. Additionally, it will include a completely renovated 1980s scene when the update debuts in late spring 2027.

Avengers Campus will double in size
Disney confirmed that the expansion of Avengers Campus continues to progress and will result in two major attractions scheduled to open in 2028.
The first will be Avengers Infinity Defense, an adventure that will combine huge physical sets with cutting-edge audiovisual technology to immerse visitors in a multiversal battle alongside various Marvel heroes.
The second will be Stark Flight Lab, a training experience inspired by Stark Industries where visitors will test futuristic technology guided by characters played once again by Robert Downey Jr., Anthony Mackie, and Brie Larson.
The first Coco attraction is already in development. California Adventure will also receive the first permanent attraction inspired by Coco.
The story will take place one year after the events of the movie and will lead visitors to navigate the Land of the Dead alongside Miguel. The experience will begin in a line themed as a museum dedicated to Héctor Rivera, one of the most beloved characters in the story.

Disneyland Resort announced the return of several experiences that are very popular with visitors.
In February 2027, the nighttime show Remember... Dreams Come True will return to Disneyland Park. That same month, a new version of World of Color will debut at Disney California Adventure.
Additionally, during the summer of 2027, the Magic Happens parade will return to travel down Main Street U.S.A.
Disney is also working on a deep renovation of Tomorrowland. The transformation will seek to preserve the area's classic essence while introducing new spaces, experiences, and a renewed vision of the future.
Disneyland Paris
Space Mountain will return to its roots
In Disneyland Paris, the Hyperspace Mountain version will disappear to make way for the return of Space Mountain: De la Terre à la Lune.
The attraction will regain its original inspiration based on the works of Jules Verne, along with classic elements such as its historic soundtrack and a modernized experience for a new generation of visitors.

New version of Space Mountain
Tokyo Disneyland will debut Space Mountain: Earthrise, a completely renovated adventure that will allow for a view of the Earth from an unprecedented perspective as visitors travel through the cosmos.
The attraction will be part of the comprehensive transformation of Tomorrowland.
Ralph will arrive with Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue
Disney will also bring the Wreck-It Ralph universe to the Japanese park.
The new attraction Sugar Rush: Sweet Rescue will allow you to accompany Ralph and Vanellope on a mission to return some mischievous candy characters to their original form as they traverse the video game's colorful settings.
Hong Kong Disneyland
The Avengers expand their presence
The park will receive a new Avengers Pavilion, featuring experiences related to the team's research laboratories, new technologies, a platform for the Quinjet, and adventures that will further expand the Marvel universe within the resort.
Shanghai Disney Resort
Spider-Man will have his own themed land
For the first time in a Disney park, Spider-Man will have an area dedicated entirely to his universe.
The expansion will include a roller coaster, experiences with Spider-Bots, and new activities related to WEB, the organization of young inventors introduced in the recent Spider-Man films.
Disney Adventure World
The Lion King will have its first major attraction. Simba will star in a new experience where visitors will roam the Pride Lands while following his growth from cub to king.
Disney promises one of the most spectacular recreations ever made of the classic animated film.
Disney Cruise Line
Disney Believe will set sail in 2027
The company revealed the first details of the Disney Believe ship, whose Grand Hall will be inspired by Moana.
The ship will also feature Tinker Bell decorating the bow and Buzz Lightyear and Woody as part of the exterior design.

A new generation of ships is coming
Disney Cruise Line confirmed the development of a new class of cruise ships for 2029. These ships will be intermediate in size between the oldest and the most modern in the fleet, allowing for the expansion of routes and experiences in new destinations around the world.
Disney anticipates one of the largest expansions in its recent history, with new attractions and shows that will begin to debut between 2027 and 2029 at various parks and cruise ships around the world.
